Il gruppo ELEMENTI è composto da Biljana Isijanin e Ljupco Isijanin (i fondatori) e alcuni altri artisti che occasionalmente si uniscono al gruppo per attuare diversi progetti. Hanno organizzato molte esposizioni e i loro lavori sono stati presentati in Macedonia, Republica Ceca, Polonia, Inghilterra, Olanda e Giappone.
ELEMENTI lavora anche come Centro per le Arti Pubbliche Contemporanee a Bitola in Macedonia. Il lavoro curatoriale cerca di fare da ponte tra artista e curatore così come tra arte e vita, focalizzandosi su quello che è il vero e proprio sviluppo dell’opera.
Il lavoro del gruppo di artisti ELEMENTI si focalizza sulla relazione tra società ed essere umano. Nel loro lavoro cercano di provocare l’individuo, alienato dalla società e di solito non in grado di capire che essere catturati dall’idea di globalizzazione di fatto significa essere unificati e non più se stessi.
Il lavoro UNITED è stato fatto specificamente per il progetto INCONTRA I BALCANI in Italia.
E’ il risultato dei loro pensieri su una delle parole più abusate. UNITED è una parola nella quale si possono nascondere i desideri più distruttivi.
L’installazione UNITED è un confronto ironico tra la forma della stella – il simbolo dell’armonia – e una bandiera – il simbolo del potere. La stella può facilmente diventare l’oggetto del desiderio di conquista e la metafora per concentrazione di potere.
The art group ELEMENTI are Biljana Isijasin and Ljupco Isijanin (the founders) and few other artists joining the group occasionally in different projects. They have organized a lot of exhibitions and their works have been presented in Macedonia, Czech Republic, Poland, England, Netherlands and Japan.
ELEMENTI also works as a Centre for Contemporary Public Arts in Bitola, Macedonia. Their work as curators is trying to bridge the gap between the artist and curator, the art and the life as well, focusing on the idea of the very process of the work.
The work of the art group ELEMENTI is focused on the relation between society and human being. In their work they are trying to provoke the individual, alienated from society and usually unable to understand that being captured by the idea of globalization in fact means to be unified and not being oneself.
The work UNITED is especially made for the project INCONTRA I BALCANI in Italy. It is a result of their thoughts about one of the most misused words. UNITED is a word into which the most destructive desires could be hidden.
The installation UNITED is a ironic confrontation between the shape of the star – the symbol of harmony – and the flag – the symbol of power. The star can easily become the object of desire for conquering and the metaphor for concentration of power.
